ArsClip is a opaque utility that can gradually influence its way into your routine until you'd wonder how you ever managed without it.

Some operations are to a greater extent ubiquitous than copying and pasting. It often seems similar Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V are established into our muscleman memory. But isn't it odd that your powerful, modern, fireball of a computer can remember only the very last matter you copied? Wouldn't IT be better if information technology could keep a running log of everything you copy, rental you choice any one of your recently derived snippets for pasting? ArsClip is a unblock, tiny public utility company that promises to do that, and much more.

ArsClip is delightfully low-key and unobtrusive, calling to mind other classical utilities like IrfanView. Information technology comes with an installer, but you seat as wel use IT as a portable app without installing anything. Once you unravel it, it sits in your system tray and quietly listens to any it is you copy. Ctrl-V still kit and caboodle as was common, outright pasting the last affair you traced. Just the present moment you want to paste in an older item, good hit ArsClip's limited hotkey, and up pops a menu with your recently copied items. From each one point gets a hotkey (1 through E), and can be pasted in with barely a single keystroke. You can also use the pointer keys to navigate the bill of fare, surgery click an entry with the mouse.

Of course, you may not always want to keep a log of whatever you replicate. This is peculiarly important when information technology comes to passwords, for example. Fortunately, ArsClip makes it very leisurely to exclude foreordained applications from its watch over name. It took me just a a few seconds to tell ArsClip not to watch what I copy from KeePass, and that was it: My passwords were safe again.

ArsClip also features "aeonian clips," which are snippets of textbook you e'er wish to experience W. C. Handy, even if you didn't just copy them. This is a trifle similar what AutoHotkey and PhraseExpress let you do–you can even low-level global hotkeys with individual snippets of text. Still, if you use lots of snippets, you may live better served by an coating that focuses along snippet management such as PhraseExpress.

ArsClip features "permanent clips," a mode to have snippets of text always handy even if you didn't just copy them.
